Bottle from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. As Shockolate Wheat. Pours brown with a tan head. Aroma is mild chocolate with a spice note. And vanilla. Med body or nearly. Flavor is chocolate, vanilla and some spice. I’m thinking wheat can’t support these sorts of flavors. Barley. Might have made this work.

Thanks to Lilihel for bringing this one back from Vegas. Now goes under the name "Shockolate Wheat". Pours a hazy dark brown colour with a fizzy head that disappears quickly, leaving no lacing at all. Big vanilla nose with some chocolate. The taste is quite mild compared to the nose. Slight pasty mouthfeel. Not as bad as their Honey Bourbon (as in one is good, but then it hard to have another), but most of this seems pretty fake, like essences.

Pour is a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is a nice chocolate and vanilla combo. Flavor is more of the chocolate and not much after than. Really carbonated and its like drinking a chocolate soda. With these shock top beers you never really know how much of the flavor is artificial or natural. I’m guessing artificial since this is pretty sweet and chocolaty.

12 oz bottle from Target. Nose is like a white chocolate cocoa mixed with Hersheys syrup. Clear dark brown with a medium beige head. Flavor is a sweet malty base beer with Hershey syrup mixed in, a beer version of chocolate milk. Tasty and drinkable if I was still 5 years old. Probably would sell well in France and the kids could drink it at meals instead of wine.

Chocolate syrup and vanilla nose. Cola black, creamy thin tan head. Vanilla and cocoa, sweet, with a wisp of smoke on the back of the palate. Some wood and ash notes. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Probably artificial flavoring, but it works for me.

Free beer. Thanks Fred.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was dark brown color with a fizzy bubbly white head that dissipated within seconds. There was barely any lacing.
The smell had a weird burnt chocolate grainy nuttiness going on.
The taste was grainy burnt chocolate.
On the palate, it had a light sweet burnt chocolatey-ness going on over my tongue.
Overall, weird beer, well I tried it and wasn’t thrilled most likely wouldn’t have it again.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a large foamy brown head that faded and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was tangy with a little bit of cocoa, cola and licorice. The flavor was malty chocolate, vanilla, vague dark fruits and caramel. Long finish. Moderately full bodied and creamy. Surprisingly pleasant.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a dark brown with a ruby hue and a half finger of quickly disappearing off-white head. Aroma of Hershey’s chocolate. Taste is medium sweet. Hershey’s chocolate and sugar water, kinda gross actually.

Location: 12 oz bottle from a random store near the Grand Canyon, 3/5/14

Aroma: Nose of sweet chocolate malts, not too much else, but still nice enough
Appearance: It pours a brown color with a small beige head and some light lace
Flavor: The taste is very sweet, almost a chocolate soda-like flavor to it
Palate: The body is creamy, it has a plus carbonation, it is only mildly cloying on the mouth
Overall Impression: Better than I expected from Shock Top. Sweet chocolate flavor and aroma. Kind of a Sam Smith Chocolate Stout Jr., but also kind of not.
