500 ml from tap at Brauerei Spezial, Bamberg. Served in mug. Vibrant cloudy orange colour, full creamy head. Citric and floral nose. Elderflower, grapefruit and other citrus fruits and some yeast. Very balanced, hoppy floral taste, slightly bitter. Soft carbonated, creamy texture. Fantastic Zwickel.

Tap at the brewpub. Herbal and spicy, medium body with a decent carbonation, and wide in taste and flavour. Juicy. A balance to die for. So simple, yet not boring at all. Yum.

At the brewery. Hazy glowing orange appearance with creamy white head. Aroma is hay, crackery, bready yeasts, dough, light Fruchtgummi/bubblegum, grassy. Taste is straight bread dough, herbal hops, with a touch of Fruchtgummi and a grassy bitter finish, all with a silky smooth naturally carbed body. A Kellerbier delight.

(Draught at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 18 Feb 2015) Pale golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with bread, grass and hay. Malty taste with notes of bread, cereal, hay and a balanced grassy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Fresh, really tasty and in very good balance. Nice one.

On tap at ’In de Wildeman’. Clear, pale straw yellow with a medium large, creamy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, grassy and slightly fruity aroma of straw, cereals, some caramel and citrus. Sweetish, grassy and slightly fruity taste of straw, cereals, caramel and citrus, followed by a short, slightly bitter, grassy finish. Thin to medium body, smooth mouthfeel, flat. Tastes super fresh and is very quaffable. Enjoyed it!

Draft at Brauerei Spezial in Bamberg during the Post-Christmas Bamberg Jolly of January 2014. Pours lightly hazy yellow with a fluffy white head. Rich dry cereal in the nose, some floral hops. Light sweet flavour, super clean, with crispy cereal, mellow bitter straw, slight grass. Light bodied with average carbonation and creamy texture. Very good balance in the finish, more crispy cereal and offsetting bitter hay and grass. Glorious beer. Supremely drinkable
