An average münchner hell, similar than the paulaner, so refreshing during the hot night in this village, malty, hop, a bit metalic, 16.07.18, at Pettaciatto, hot.weather and a helles is always welcomed.

Classic Münchener Helles under a classic German brand owned (and brewed) by Paulaner since 1998, but keeping the memory of the former Hacker-Pschorr brewery in München alive at least by name and logo. Thanks tderoeck for sharing. Snow white, medium thick, moussey, largely stable head, clear yellow-golden blonde robe with lively visible sparkling. Aroma of spoiled chervil soup and actual withered chervil, banana peel, green cabbage beginning to rot, old white bread, wet straw, wet paper even (though apparently still well below its "best before" date, oddly). Clean, sweetish onset, rounded cereally white-bready maltiness, medium carbonated with slick mouthfeel; mild grassy and floral hop bitterish notes in the finish - soft as it ought to be in this genre - but also these unexpected and marring spoiled chervil soup and wet paper oxidation aromas ruining the delicate features of the beer. Maybe the swingtop did not protect the fine frame of the necessarily frail Helles enough, but clearly something did go a bit awry here, resulting in a few less appealing aromas. I will give this one another chance if I ever come across it again, though.

0.5l can. Golden body with a white head. Aroma and taste of bread, grains, hay, sugar syrup and some floral hops. Smooth helles, OK.

Draft. Pours golden with white head. Not my favorite Helles, but eminently drinkable w/malt and grassiness.

Średniej jakości piwo, da się wypić, ale nie ma się ochoty wracać.

0,5l can from REWE Alexander Vogt in Velburg. Head is big, white, long lasting. Colour is gold, light hazy. Aroma is grainy, bit oxidized, grassy, floral. Taste is medium malty base, light grassy, herbal, oxidized touch, bit harsh bitterness, medium carbonation, nothing really tasty here, for 1€ at least nice can.

Tap at Hopa.

Insgesamt ordentlicher Durchschnitt.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is grainy malt with straw, light fruity hints and - unfortunately - some notes of cardboard. Flavour is moderate sweet with a light to moderate bitterness. Body is medium. A disappointing Helles with unwelcome notes of cardboard.
