A traditional German helles bock, golden in color and brewed with only the finest imported malt and hops. The distinct malty sweetness is balanced by a pronounced hop finish. Brewed to Welcome the Spring Season.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled in 2/2015. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of honey, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, grass, light pear/apricot, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of dark/bready malts and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big honey, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, grass, light pepper, light pear/apricot, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of honey, toast, biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of dark/bready malt and earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Fairly clean on lager flavors with not too much yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a very good maibock. All around good robustness and balance of dark/bready malt and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth to drink for the ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering.

12oz bottle pours a slightly hazy orange with some thin, white head. Aroma is fairly standard, sweet, ripe fruit, honey, candy sugar, malt, a little cotton candy. Flavor is similar, some tropical fruit, candy sugar, malt, honey, yeast, a little bread. Medium bodied, sweet finish. One note, but unoffensive. Definitely read as a Maibock.

Pours a light golden yellow. Very grassy aroma. Flavor is crisp and malty, with some background hops. Not my favorite style.

I tasted the "malty sweetness" touted by the brewer, but disagree with calling it "distinct." A bit of booziness conflicted with the taste. I think this would be a better beer if I had paired it with certain food, but it didn’t really do anything for me. I have to just call it "okay."

Smells a little sweet. Darker yellow haze. Bubbly head. Strong sizzly first taste. Yess-sir, this is way over 6%. Slight burn down the throat. Interesting fermented friut or something background. Bitter alky blast. Finish is quite long and strong. Not excited.

12oz bottle. Absolute gusher, two inch foamy soapy lasting head. When it finally all made it into the glass it did look pretty nice. Orange amber color, quite murky and thick. The aroma has a nice hop and Bocky malt balance. The taste is relatively straightforward, quality sweet malt. Perfectly balanced, the hops are present, but never overbearing. Great Maibock.

Hazy golden coloured body with a very dense slightly off-white head and a billion bubbles rising from the sides of the glass. Aroma of fresh malt, lemons, nuts, candy corn and a bit of apple cider vinegar. Medium-bodied; Strong malty flavour with a big bunch of wheat and musty german (low a.a.) hops comes quick after the sip. Aftertaste shows more mellow characteristics: some lemons, nuts and a mild sweetness fades to pale malt. Overall, a decent beer - a bit strange and strong up front...but give it a bit of time and it shows more. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 25 October 2007.
