In technical, brewmaster terminology, this is one groovy beer. Crisp, easy drinking, and refreshing. As groovy as a big wave ... without the salt. 25 bitterness units

Bottle. This beer is terrible. Not a very good representation of the style. Too much grain taste and not much else.

355ml can from a Trader Joe's and poured into a La Chouffe glass on 30th June 2024 while at my daughters in Laguna Hills. Bright, clean and clear golden body, good sized white crown. Grainy rather than malty, metallic twang with a floral twist. Cheap supermarket beer and it shows!

12 oz. can. Pours a clear, straw color, with a medium, foamy, white head. The aroma is wet grass, rose, raw grain, and butterscotch. Sweet and malty, with a rather brisk, clean bitterness. Light body, crisp, and a little sticky. Easy and pretty tasty.

Bottle from Trader Joe's. Pours a clear orange with a quickly dissipating finger of head. Sweet malt nose with light floral, herbal aromas. More of the same on the palate but a weird mix of sweet and bitter. Dry herbal finish with almost a lavendar-like aroma. Worst of the TJ's beers I've had so far.

Bottle, TJ's CHO. Clear gold with a white head. Lemon zest, green and brown grasses. Taste is light dish soap, lemon zest, green grasses, green leaf. Not much to this, but inoffensive.

I typically find these TJ brand products underrated, but this one is pretty disappointing - the nose is what’s most off, with a little DMS and on oily character, although there is some pleasant malt character and lightly floral hops - flavor has a kind of sharp acidity to it - some damp graininess, mildly bitter hop character - finish of sweet corn character - yea, not that good.

Not really a kolsch bit then again how often do you have a real kolsch. Decently drinkable, would be good at the university bar in copious pitchers. Pale golden clear with no head or lacing. Fizzy. Tap at Gordon biersch.

Bottle. Floral malt aroma. Medium yellow with moderate head. Sweet corny malt and moderately bitter herbal flavor. Another less than stellar beer from Trader Joes.

I picked this up at Trader Joe’s, it was $3.99 for a six pack which is an immense deal. For the deal, I’m not sure if you can get a better brew, but you do get what you pay for. Aroma faint of lemon and citrus, also German lager yeast. Appearance very clear yellow with a thin head. Taste is crisp with a good mouthfeel, a bit of hops within the crisp malts. It’s pretty good, definitely at this very cheap price point, very comparable to Goose Island’s 312 Urban Wheat which is $4 more.
