Sun King has created a beer inspired by The Million Dollar Quartet, a musical dramatizing the 1956 Sun Studios jam session featuring Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash.
A Vienna Lager, Million Dollar Brewski is an attempt to recreate a beer the Million Dollar Quartet might have knocked back during their historic session. When conducting research, Sun King head brewer Dave Colt learned that Katz Drug Store sold a private label beer and that one of Elvis’ early shows took place on a flat bed truck in an alley behind a Katz store in Memphis. Further research led Colt to believe that the private label beer was a Vienna Lager, a German-style beer similar to Oktoberfest, but lighter. Colt typically works with indigenous ingredients to create new twists on established beer styles, but "we want the Million Dollar Brewski to be authentic and true to the humble beginnings of rock and roll.”

Tap (growler). Creamy barley malt aroma with a hint of pepper. Amber color with giant off-white head. Sweet caramel malt flavor. Nice body and balance - sweetness not over the top. The best Vienna I’ve ever had.
