Bomber courtesy of queenholly. Thanks! Pours near pitch black with a medium sized dark brown head. Good head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, cocoa, smoke, soy, sunflower, very mild dark fruits. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, wood, nutty notes, cocoa, bitter hops. Full bodied, chewy, well balanced. Very nice stout.

22 oz. bottle thanks to queenholly. Thick oil color with thin tan head. Nose is great licorice, deep roasted chocolate malt, burnt coffee beans and ash. At the first sip a got a strong hop bitterness that reminds me of Cascade which was a big surprised since this has been cellared for at least 6 months. The bitterness is a nice way to cut all the roasted notes. Palate is thick and full with a chalky/ burnt ash texture. I don’t get any cherry or fruit but it is totally fine. I don’t know how old the bottle is but I enjoy it for what is in the glass in front of me. And to be able to still taste the hops is impressive.

pitch black, 2 finger creamy espresso head nice lacing. Nose is VERY roast with some dark chocolate. there is some weird rubber tire on the nose. taste is pretty good. there’s a bit of chlorine and chalk but nice decent chocolate, slightly buttery and tons of roast quality. Espresso shot goes on for days

Bottle, thanks to RobertDale. Dark brown, nearly black in color. Lively brown head dissapates at a moderate pace... I find the aroma overly sweet; molasses, dark fruit, and anise. Reminds me of Bells 9k, but less cloying. Roast and smoke in the taste, really a campfire type flavor. Light oak and a little more molasses. Misses the mark for me.

Thanks to Norm for this one. It pours out with a nice and dark body that supports a thin mocha colored head of foam. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, coffee, malt balls and a bit of black licorice. The taste feels somewhat thin and delivers some dark roasted malts, burnt malts and a bit of plastic. Toward the finish it picks up addition levels of dark roasted malts that leaves a pleasing after taste in the mouth.

Sample at the 4th Annual Coldest Day of the Year Stout Tasting on 01/21/2012: Dark brown pour with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark chocolate, malt and hops. Full-bodied with a roasty character and notes of dark malts, chocolate and coffee. The finish is sweet at first and leaves notes of soy sauce and berries. Above average overall.

Bottle. Dark cherry and molasses malt aroma. Oil black color with small head. Slightly sweet chocolate toffee malt flavor. Mild bitter finish. Different for an Imperial Stout - subdued and smooth.

Sampled from a growler at the 2010 Indiana Winterfest. Poured black with a lasting dark brown head. Aroma was full of dark grains, chocolate and an undertone of coffee. Flavor had a nice note of dark chocolate, coffee and dark grains with a slight hint of cherry lying underneath.

Beer #20 at GTMW ’09. Great stout look in the glass, big brown head over a black body. Smell has hint of gunpowder from toy cap pistols, but also a sweet beer smell. Cherries are very much there in the taste, but still kind of light and likeable. Stout has none of the flaws of the style: no astringency or burnt grain taste, no coffee. Just a straightforward stout base. Goes down very nicely. A great aperitif beer.
