bottle had in Northern MIchigan. Okay IPA - the hops are intense, without much cirtus to balance. decent overall

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear straw yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has notes of earthy grains and grass with a bit of pine backing. Flavor is similar with a combination of earthy grains, grass and wet pine.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 6/24/2015. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/floral hops and moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, honey, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/piney hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky/resinous, and slightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good IPA. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/piney hops and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. A nicely enjoyable offering.

12 oz bottle poured to pint glass. Murky, yeasty light gold color with medium head. Picked this up because I read that the brewer claims he created Two Hearted when he worked for Bell’s. This beer is okay, but it doesn’t run with Two Hearted. Nice malt/hop balance with just the right citrus kick for an IPA. finish is bitter, but yeasty.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy amber to brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute and left a light lacing lingering around the sides of the glass.
The smell had a nice blend of sweet citrus hops to English malts rolling around underneath my nose.
The taste took the citrus and the malts and combined nicely.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. For an IPA, this one seemed a bit under carbonated and I didn’t get the usual harshness I expect in an IPA.
Overall, the smell, appearance and taste are ther, but the palate just doesn’t exactly feel right for an IPA. Did I have an old bottle? I’d only have again if I could guarantee a fresher bottle.

bottle - Pours hazy copper with a small off-white head. The aroma is of citrus and caramel. It tastes of caramel malt with moderately strong hops bitterness. Hops lingers pleasantly on the palate. It’s not as bitter as some IPAs but it works well nonetheless.

From a twist off bottle. Has some mild hop aroma but nothing special, I almost had to look for the the smell. Quite intense hop flavor but nothing really impressive. Does leave a good long astringent bitter finish on the back of the tongue. Look of this stuff is like a slightly darker pale lager, but not much darker. Does have a fair amount of sizzle on the palte. Boy, that nasty astringent hop thing on the back of my tongue leaves an everlasting impression.

Gold color. Very sweet and some hopes. A little citrus, but more herbal and dry hop character. It is actually ok, palate is right, and there are enough hops you know what you are drinking.

Sweet 12oz bonus bottle courtesy of GhostFace. It pours clear deep gold with white head and lasting white ring of foam. The aroma has bitter spicy hops, earthy sort of wet grass hops and then sweet malts in the background. OK, damn I’m liking the flavor of this IPA. It delivers some chewy clean malts pushing into a mix of bitter spicy and slightly dank spicy hops and some grapefruit like citrus hops. To midway and into the finish are echoes of citrus and floral hop flavor but a good deal of citrus and spicy hops are still there and linger into the after taste.

Bottle. Pours a pale yellowish gold. Nice 2 finger head that leaves some good lacing. Aromas are... you guessed it; floral citrus notes and pine. The taste is bitter grapefuit and herbal pine, and some bready malt for ¿balance? Well carbonated, but still relatively light bodied. A rather average IPA IMHO.
