This is a BIG beer. An English style Barley Wine that has had truckloads of raspberries and a touch of vanilla added, then aged in bourbon barrels for 6 months. Fruity and smooth but with a sturdy malt backbone.

29 November 2019. At Billie's Craft Beer Fest. Cheers to the lovely Anke, tderoeck, 77ships & Ghent beer crew! Hazy amber, lasting, very thin, frothy, tan head. Aroma of dried orange peel, candied apricot, banana, caramel, red apple, raisin. Taste has sweet candied orange & banana, vague sourish berries underneath, wrapped in caramelly & brioche-like malts with a whiff of vanilla. Herbal hoppy finish, lingering caramel, candied fruit & heating bourbon alcohol. Medium body, oily-syrupy texture, fizzy carbonation. Heavy Barley Wine, bourbon managing to not become too strong, and actually adding something.

Can shared for new year's eve. Aroma is red berries, caramel, bourbon, vanilla, malt sweetness. Big body, thick mouthfeel. Flavour is big and malty, with loads of caramel, red berries and loads of bourbon, vanilla and Oak. Lovely barley wine. Finishes long with wood and bourbon.

Draught No head left, brown-ochre beer, still. Bourbon, vanilla, wood, alcohol & fusels. Slight roasted malts. Rich alcoholic, vanilla-flavoured beer, bit vinous too. Lots of fruit, oranges, strawberry, plums, all on fortified wine. Rich, alcoholic-warming, viscous. Very nice if not truly outstanding.

3rd November 2019
Light haze on this reddish amber beer, small pale tan head. Quite a light and thin palate for the style and the hefty abv. The malts are sweetish and have a mild tangy caramel. A fairly intense tangy generic fruitiness ensues, sharpish cherry rising above. Ripe fruits, well soaked in mellow whiskey bring proceedings to a close. Not surprisingly there is modest amounts of gum numb and spice but overall quite drinkable for its punch. A better richer malt base would have taken this bw soooo very much further.
