A barrel aged version of our legendary Imperial Stout. Dark Horizon 6 has aged on Armagnac barrels for more than two years and has developed some pretty amazing flavors.

On tap at Nødingen. It pours a small brown head over a very close to black body. Almost oily in the glass, with little lacing left. The aroma has quite a lot of coffee, it's sweetish with brown sugar, some boozy notes from the Armagnac barrels, and of course there's roasted malts and other dark aromas. Dark chocolate, a faint hint of treacle and some prunes and burnt malts. It's full-bodied, lightly warming but not alcoholic, smooth, yet a bit rough in the mouth. Guess the extra months it will be stored before bottle release will do it good. The flavor is quite sweet, sweeter than the previous Dark Horiozons, but not as sweet as Sweet Horizon of course. Roasted malts, quite a lot of coffee, dark chocolate, brown sugar, a decent bitterness and some booze too. Everlasting finish. Overall, a beer that is too sweet at the moment, but considering the ABV, it don't feel much boozy. Looking forward to the bottle release this fall. 190301
