A few selected barrels containing awesome imperial stouts were blended to create this massive beer. Aged on vanilla and cinnamon in whisky- and cognac barrels. No wonder it gives you the complete range on the palate: coffee, vanilla, cinnamon, liquorice, blackcurrant, dried fruits and leather.

Bottle. Pitch black body with a small brown head. Aroma of dark roasted malt, dark chocolate, caramel, dry fruit, distinct but not excessive cinnamon, wood, vanilla and warming alcohol. Flavor is bold but extremely smooth and balanced at the same time. Dark roasted malt, chocolate, dry fruit, cinnamon and Christmas spices, wood, vanilla, caramel, warming alcohol and quite bitter in a very balancing way. Perfect body and long lasting aftertaste. This is like a very well made combination of Dark Horizon and Underlig Jul on steroids, with the best part from both. Wow!

Panda at home, thanks to, 16/07/23 black with a thin tan cap that escapes edgewards. Nose is cognac, dried fruit rinds, spice, dates, vanilla oak, toffee, figs, vinous. Taste comprises dark malts, spice, definitely more cognac than whisky, almost sherry like tones, dates, vinous, raisins, chocolate. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Solid drop.

5th July 2023 Opaque black brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Palate is light and semi dry, good fine carbonation. Alcohol spice runs throughout this 15% Impy but it's never ever hot. Rich dark malts, very rich although not that luxurious on the mouthfeel. Rich dark chocolate, a little fruity. Rich coffee, earthy and getting slightly herbal where it interacts with the barrel spirits. What barrels? Don't know! Tastes like whiskey with maybe sherry and something exotic like Aquavit. Mild barrel induced vanilla. Finishes light and a little spirity, spirity in an very pleasing quality cocktail sort of way. Long boozy and slightly savoury linger. Splendid! Went down in no time this 15% and yes whoop whoop that is a warning! Rich, multi faceted and rewarding.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Pigs Ear. Pours black-brown with a foamy tan head that fizzles away quickly. Medium sweet flavour, big on the cinnamon, some dark cocoa, toasted malts, heavy booze, a little earth, some licorice. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming, boozy finish, some anise, burnt wood, more cocoa, well toasted malts, toasted cinnamon. A little scattered but enjoyable overall.

Solid powerful stuff. Maybe a bit to much? It lasted the whole evening. And I wanted more when the glass was empty So it was perfect for the situation Not so much cinnamon any more. But lots of coffee, chocolate, roast, barrel, vanilla, cocoa and a bit fruity. Solid complexity. Not to boozy actually, and quite dry Also a fine carbonation level [Bottle from Vinmonopolet Aker Brygge in Oslo, Norway]
