Bottle thanks to Tom! Pours a clear amber with an off-white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of blueberries that are slightly sweet up front with a growing bitterness/sourness. Flavor begins with sweet blueberries but has a nice growing sourness with achintvof acid.

Poured from bottle, a slight pink/purple color with a white head. Aroma was slightly tart blueberries, with a dominant blueberry presence in it. A touch of oak I suppose, with a tartness to it.

I had the chance to try this one a lot of times while at Dark Lord Day (the day before and during), and just couldn’t get myself into it as much as my compatriots. It’s well made for sure, but I just personally didn’t dig it as much as the people shoving it my way did. Keeping my eyes open for their beer in the future though!

Bottle. Pours purple with quickly vanishing pink head. Nose of fresh blueberries, oak, funk, wild yeast and acidic tart blueberry. Taste is same but with a slight bandaid note in the deep background. Still awesome, but I’m glad I drank this now. Medium body. Tartness if very mild and inviting.

Sampled on tap at Cascade Brewpub, pours a mostly clear red with a small beige head. Aroma of pure sour blueberries, sangria and subtle oak barrels. Flavour of sour blueberry puree, with the same notes of sangria, some oak barrels and a tart blueberry finish. Very nicely done.

Had both the older releases and the new Shrieking Violet on tap. Both were good. The aroma is sweet berries alongside vinous, woody notes. The flavor is borderline very sour at times with sawdust and light sour blueberry. Very odd but in a good way. Not a fruit beer per se, more oak and tannins. Quite nice.
