11.2oz can. Nice to see something different from the UK in the US market. ABV is 5.2%. Darker than I associate a Bitter with....but I guess it never describes itself as a Bitter anyway. Closer to a Mild. Deep crystal malts, mild chocolate. Hops are delicate and just provide balance. Mild dark fruit tones. Good.

Half pour (cask) at the Steamer. Amber with crea.y head. Cask characteristics save this otherwise drab bitter, creamy and smooth.

0.5 l bottle as 'Bombardier Glorious English Ale' from 'The English Shop' at 4.7% abv, bottled in July 2017. Clear, deep reddish amber with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity and a little herbal-grassy aroma of molasses, raisins, prunes and some tea. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, malty, slightly fruity and a bit herbal-grassy taste of raisins, prunes, molasses, some tea and a touch of toffee, followed by a short, just slightly bitter, moderately herbal-grassy finish. Medium body, smooth and minimally effervescent mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Very pleasant Ale, lots of flavour for that abv, solid balance.

Cask at the Blue Lion, Holborn. Pours clear dark amber with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of caramel, fruit, malt and hop. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Towards medium body, slight oily and watery texture, soft carbonation. Bitter finish. Some years since I had this and remember it to have been better.
