Goldings hops finish off the fruitcake-like flavours with hints of earthy bitter orange. Complex, balanced and incredibly drinkable.

500ml bottle, BBE in 11 months. Pours amber with small white head; fine. Aroma is mainly malt but there is some earthy hops and chocolate coming through but all a bit muted. Taste of malts, grain, nuts, a little spice and quite sweet; nice. Low carbonation but quite smooth which is satisfying. Nice dry bitter finish. Good bitter.

Deep amber with a foamy, off-white head, has a sweet malt aroma with a hint of caramel. A little over-carbonated giving a slightly harsh mouthfeel, the taste profile is fruity and malty with a hint of bitterness

Bottle from Tesco. Pours a crystal clear copper colour with a thin off white head. Aromas of malt, caramel, toffee, toasted bread and biscuits. Taste is the same notes as the aroma, more caramel and toffee with a slightly metallic and earthy hop palate. Some spice and hints of grass. Medium bodied with more earthy hop bitterness on the finish. Very good bitter.

pours clear, copper amber over blonde. Small white unstable head. Smell is mildly caramelly. Clean fermentation profile, low hoparomatic features. Taste is surprisingly full. Rather bitter, nice malty base ( caramelly, white bread, mild breadcrust ) . Earthy, very mild floral hops. Nice creamy malty, light bitter finish. Nice Bitter !

Fruity, slightly smoky aroma with caramel. Small frothy head. Firm hopbitter coffee and caramel flavor with just a bit of licorice. Fairly long caramal and bitter finish. Tasty bitter ale, full bodied in spite of its modest alcohol content.

Bottle from Asda. Deep amber in colour, with a frothy, white, head and moderate carbonation. Toffee throughout, with a mineral edge, some flabby malts and a gently bitter finish. Ok.
