500ml bottle. Pours a clear golden amber colour, with foamy head which quickly dissipates and a cereal malt aroma. Immediate fizzy sharp bitterness, malty taste, folowed by a tangy dry lingering bitterness. Medium bodied, OK.

50cl bottle from Sainsbury’s. Ok, white head. Golden blond pour. Nice hoppy finish but needs more hops.

I wrote this on 29th Oct 2011: Need a hop fix, hope this ’live’ review of this IPA does the trick. Brown 500ml bottle, poured into a Good People badged pint glass: the beer having a best before life running until 31 Jan 2012 (some 3 months away). The US pint glass not being big enough to take the whole bottle. Looks good, a fine bright amber body with an off-white creamy looking head of tightly knit foaming bubbles. The smell is all hop, floral, citrus hops: Fuggles, Goldings and Cascade being the three used in this ale. The hops completely rule the taste, can’t find any malt content showing any sweetness. One of the hoppiest IPA’s I’ve had from a British brewery, nothing as heavy as some of those West Coast hop monsters out of the US, but still very hop orientated. The hops obviously make this a pretty bitter brew, the alcohol level is hidden by that bitterness and it is only as the mouth has completely dried out between gulps that the alcohol appears. I’m not usually a hop head, but I wanted a hop fix and this certainly did the job.

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, light to moderate hoppy, fruity, light grassy hops. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, lemon - cleaning agent. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20111204]

Deep gold with a slight, off-white head and moderate fizz. Sweetish, malty aorma with a touch of grassy hop. Flavour of fruits, with a hint of citrus, cereals and a short, bitter finish. Fairly average stuff.

Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral and mildly vegetably as well. Flavour is fruity, quite hoppy and herbal along with some crisp and biscuity maltyness.

Bottle, Sainsburys, Upton. Clear golden pour with a minimal off white head. Aroma was grainy with some sweet malt and muffled hop notes. Somewhat insipid mouthfeel and lacking any real body. Hops were evident in the flavour, but not nearly enough. Drinkable but very average attempt at an IPA.

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli, before heading out to see My Morning Jacket. Pours deep gold with a weak, white head. Nose has some herbal, leafy hops and toasty malts. Medium sweet flavor, some basic malts, faint honey, some biscuits, bit of herbal and pine bitterness. Light to medium in body with average finish. Alright balance to finish, some slight stickiness to the hops, hints of earth and grass, some toast and sugar. Uninspiring but completely alright.
