Cask - Caramel and candy floss hops. Clear gold with a nice white head. Light caramel and earthy hops. Nice and refreshing, with just enough hop bite.

Medium offwhite head. Clear amber body with light carbonation. Cardamom, ginger, and flowers aroma with earthy plastic notes. Dryish mealy papery taste with linoleum notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish plasticky linoleum aftertaste with buttery spicy notes. This tastes like it’s well past the best before date, but that’s actually December 2014. Weird. These beers are good draft, but this was disappointing. (0.5l bottle, from Meny Vika, Oslo.)

(Cask at Edgar Wallace, Strand, London, 8 Apr 2014) Golden amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with apricots, orange peel and fresh hops. Malty, fruity taste with notes of apricots, orange, soft chewy malt and fresh floral hops in a finish with a certain bitterness. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Fresh and tasty. Nice one.

0.5l bottle. This is a deep blurry dark orange looking one with a small lacing and light bubbly grey top. On the nose this gives me a good amount of buttery caramel and diacetyl. A faint orange fruity hint also found but the buttery caramel dominates everything. Not to pleasant to say the least. In the mouth it has a soft oily mouthfeel and it's gently carbonated with small prickling bubbles. Mild bitter all the way. The unwanted diacetyl and butterscotch in the aroma is much more faint, but still present. Soft sugary sweet with floral tones in the finish. Quite ordinary. Smells bad, tastes lightly boring but drinks OK. 30.12.2013
