Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear 2015. It pours darkest brown, near black with a small beige head. The nose is soft, rich, bitter-sweet, rocky road, sticky molasses, Dandelion & Burdock, dried fruit and Eccles cake. The taste is rich, bitter-sweet, sticky, charred wood, light spice, dark chocolate, vanilla, toasted coconut, chewy malt and warming alcohol. Medium - full body and moderate carbonation (great condition). Decent depth of flavour. Rather nice.

Cask at Pigs Ear Beer Festival, Hackney, London. A black coloured pour with a medium off-white head. Roasty, malty, dark fruit aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, dark fruit, treacle and all things Christmas. Enjoyable Christmas stout.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2015, day 1 - London. Pours deep red-brown with a creamy, off-white head. The nose has lots of meaty roasted malts, dark fruits and chocolate. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with further chocolate character, dates, meaty fruits, toffee. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish, with rich dark malts, cocoa, ripe dark fruits. Heavy duty, to be sure, but pretty good overall.
