West Coast IPA. Marmalade in a glass, elegantly balanced off against a clean bitter finish. Unapologetically hoppy.

Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours golden amber with minimal off-white head and good lacing. The aroma is mixed hops with some smoky hints. In the mouth it is briefly sweet at the start before hoppy bitterness floods in and swamps all. Texture is somewhat watery. Flavours are floral hops, citrus, mango and tropical fruits with hints of herbs and grapefruit coming later. Finish is decidedly dry and bitter. This is decent.

Bottiglia.

September 2013: 330 ml bottle conditioned. ABV is 5.9%. Hops are Citra, Centennial, Columbus and Simcoe. Will soon be available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Surprisingly pale and hazy yellow colour, huge white head. Pleasant aroma of citrussy hops, also notes of tropical fruits, a faint hint of smoke. Distinctly hoppy flavour throughout, not too sweet, with a solid grapefruity and resinous bitterness in the finish, again with a whiff of smoke. Very refreshing. Nice one.

Clear golden colour with thin head. Slightly sweaty and cheesey. Old. Slightly skunky hop. Still well within the date. Weird.

Slightly hazy gold with a frothy/creamy white head and soft, slightly tart marmalade on the nose. Medium bodied, smooth, sweet orange malt with just a hint of pine and a dry, slightly bitter finish.

Canned. Hazy amber colour with a mediumsized slightly off-white head. Aroma is resin, herbal, mild toffee, caramel, grassy and some earthy elements. Flavour is caramel, grass, herbs, earth and mild toffee OK, but nothing very exciting.
