Draught. Deep brown colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is coffee, roast, some fruity and citrusy notes along with a slight spiciness. Flavour is ashes, some citrus, coffee, some grass and mild nectary notes. Quite smooth, and actually a nice drinkable CDA, even though there are some evident roasted/ashy tones, which I usually dislike in the beer style.

Aroma has licorice and promises about pine forest. Flavour has licorice, some resin and minerals. The promises were lies. Decent bipa but nothing special.

Tap at CBH2018, Helsinki. Color is dark brown with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Fruits, citrus, coffee, hops, grass and malts. Very good.

F: big, pale tanned, good retention. C: dark brown to black, opaque. A: tangerine, orange, pineapple, mango, passion fruits, fresh fruits. T: orange, tangerine, mellow tropical fruits, bit caramel, medium to full body, medium carbonation, good balanced, aroma is bit better than taste, very good, enjoyed, sample draft @ Swafff! Brussels Craft Beer Festival – 2nd. day.

Sampled draft @ TCBW 2018. Black, brown, creamy mocha. Nose is blueberry BIPA syrup, bit sweet with plastic. Touch too sweet with caramel, plastic but nice cheese finish, low berries, sadly touch iron, chewy, imperfect but nice.

On tap at Uba ja Humal, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out caramel malts, rich roasted malt, some citrus hops and a trace of diacetyl. Flavour is similar and unusual for the style, with roasted caramel malts upfront, followed by earthy hops and a minor trace of diacetyl. I'm not too convinced by this. The integration is solid, but there seem to be flaws.

TCBW 2018 while chatting with the brewer about why there are so few black IPAs in North Carolina. Pine nose on dark roast coffee. Taste is bitter resiny espresso. Very nice
