Redbridge is a hearty, full-bodied lager brewed using imported Hallertau and domestic Cascade hops. It is brewed with sorghum and has a well-balanced, moderately hopped taste.

Bottle. I’d never seen it before so I snatched one up in a mix 6-pack at Whole Foods.... missed that AB logo =( Pours a clear golden with a dusting of a head. Smells sweet. Tastes... like coppery water. Very thin, almost flat. Bah.

Bottle. Pours a clear russet with a light, white head. Moderately sweet nose, good amounts of corn, some apple, very faint, earthy hops detectable. Flavor is sweet and a lot like cider. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes sweet with notes of...sorghum. Not bad, exactly.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a refrigerated glass. Pours a medium clear amber with medium white head. Some lacing, high carbonation, and nice body. Taste is nice and malty. If I had celiac disease, I could get by drinking this.

I sincerely applaud Anheuser Busch for making his beer. Gluten sensitivity is a huge pain in the ass for some people. Redbridge pours an okay head that dissipates very rapidly. The beer looks fairly light like most macrobrews. On the plus side, it’s a nice amber color that I’d much rather drink than a normal American macro. It has a sweet, somewhat malty smell that is a lot more beer-like than I was expecting. There could definitely be more strength here, but I enjoy what I detect. The taste doesn’t quite correspond to the smell and is definitely a bit odd for beer. It’s a bit watery and mild. The taste is an interesting mix of sweet and sour. It could definitely use more hops, but I ultimately enjoy the unique flavor of the sorghum far more than I do corn or rice flavor in an adjunct macro. The mouthfeel is more of a problem area. The carbonation is bit bracing for the flavor and is a bit overpowering upfront. On the other hand, I find it fairly drinkable.

12 oz bottle into English pint. Aroma is tangy with a faint grain aroma. Appearance is absolutely terrible. Pours amber gold with no head or lacing; big bubbles. Should’ve drank it straight from the bottle! Like putting a bag over an ugly lover’s head. Taste is bland, but not the horrible experience I was expecting. Malty somewhat. Slightly tangy with no real bitterness. Highly carbonated. Very boring, but not bad in flavor. Lord, please let me never develop an allergy to gluten. Beer is too precious to be forced to resort to this.

Pours bright amber into a shaker. White head quickly recedes to hug rim. Caramel and candy corn aromas. Crisp and sweet with upfront candy corn and a dry, abrupt finish.

Overall Impression: This just wasn't really too good, it at least had some beer characteristics, but I wasn't blown away.

12 oz. bottle. Interesting, just because its formulation makes it so different from anything else A-B has made. Sweet smell in the glass, a bit like an agave nectar. Looks pretty nice in the glass, a burnished brass color with a thin but densely packed yellowish head. Taste is just this side of good. Lacks the sweetness of adjunct-filled macro beers. A slight curdle in the middle of my tongue. Its fermentables seem to be well-placed and plentiful, and if the hops aren’t obvious, they are matching up to the "malt." The only other sorghum beer I’ve had was the Bard’s Tale, and I think I liked this one more. If I ever needed it.

1st beer of 2009....Bottle to glass...last year went fast...its light copper with a beige head...nice aroma...a little fruity.. the light malts smell ok...light yet un-watery...a different malt taste than i’m used to a little cherries and hops too (hops-2, cherries -5) ...but well balanced for a gluten free and surprisingly not bad for an AB product...although Ive been drinking rum for hours...hmmm
