Sue is the wine barrel-aged version of Susan (1891-1975), our grandfather's sister and the namesake of our bright, citrusy Farmstead® IPA. Aged for nearly two years, it has developed and evolved into its current manifestation: a complex, lightly tart and delicately hopped Farmstead® ale.

750ml bottle from a trade. 2017 vintage. Funky, farmyardy and yeasty with some bretta, orange peel, citrus, tartish notes, oak, wood and hints of hops. Awesome, super well balanced funky farmhouse ale.

750 ml. bottle split with Kraddel. GUSHER. Orange hazy, collapsing creamy white head. Nose is rustic, wine, noble rot funk, white grape, raw farm grape funk, lovely funk,…. Noble rot funk taste, rustic, juicy white grape, high carb, some acidity, tart, funky, recognizable HF, brett, lemon, white wine barrel, hay,.. Lively thick rustic, big white wine,… Bit messy but very tasty overall.

Thnx to Eugene! Pours unclear darker blonde. Small to edium creamy white head. Smell is sharp, tad tart, mild fruityness. Very balanced. Taste is full, intense, wine clearly shows. Woody. Milder sourness, médium full body Ith a creamy ending ( in which the wine rises to the top). Médium low Carbo. Very balanced and nice. Rating is, as always, how much I personally enjoy the beer. Not the quality of the beer, that would get a far higher score.
Edit @ 2020. re-sampled ( 20198 version ) . opted for a slightly lower score to make an average between both scorings.

Sergey’s hunt, bottled 2017 05 11
Golden color, hazy to cloudy. Aroma of stone fruit, jam, a bit funky, sour, flowery, hints of honey. Smooth mouthfeel, delicate malt base, the acidity comes in, with lemon peel character, hints of grapefruit, wood, mild astringency in the final. Balanced and conplex, the flavors come in layers. Perfectly constructed.
Wonderful.
