I got this one in a trade with Wasatch. Thanks John!
This pours from 12oz can a slightly hazy amber red with a nice thick head of foam that shrinks slowly and ends up being a near solid thin layer at the end of the session. Good lacing to be had as well.
The smell has some nice roasted malt and some citrus hop notes.
The taste is at first caramel malty with roasted and earthy notes following and near and through the finish, there's a growing presence of citrus hoppiness that is quite tasty. This is a very solid example of the style and I'm thrilled that I got a chance to try it.
Thanks again, John!

Can: Pours a rusty orange color with a bit of haze. Small beige head fades away quickly. Simple aroma is floral and sweet. Light citrus and earthy bits. Very low hop impact in the taste, mostly an earthy and berry sweetness. Light citrus, but I want to say most of the sweetness comes from a juneberry or something related. Ever so slight florals in the finish. Different.

Light amber coloured body with a very thin, if that, white head. Aroma of funky malt, strong low a.a. hops and a mild metal scent. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong assertive malts dominate with a bit of sugar and caramel coming afterwards. Aftertaste shows some metal and malt, but a good complexity to finish it out. Overall, not such a horrible beer, but not one of my favourites either. I did like the can, as I always do though! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York.

12 ounce can from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a reddish brown color with a large head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is caramel with an herbal nuttiness. Taste is toasted malts, stone fruits, nuts and leafy hops. Some toffee as well. Medium bodied.

A dark amber ale with a thick off white head. Aroma of nutty caramel, with good British hops, a bit musky. In mouth, very nutty, light molasse sweetness, some light british hops, roastiness, medium bodied. Not bad. Can bought in early June 2008 at Half Time.

Thanks to tronraner for sharing this at the April Get Together! Pours a clear caramel color with a large off-white ehad. Aroma of dark caramel. Sweet caramel flavor with some dryness that comes in at the finish.

Canned at Oliver twist, Stockholm. Lightly hazy deep reddish golden, rich rocky head. Light floral hoppy nose. Medium sweet with chewy caramelly malt character. Medium bodied with sweaty flowery hoppiness. Some light apple and yeast tone wakes ups as it warms. Salty finish with medium bitterness. A well balanced, drinkable beer.

Good hop aroma and flavor, almost a mild pale ale. Not much else going on, some mild malt and a dry finish. Light brown color and well carbonated. Fairly good palate, it isn’t watery at all.

12 oz can from Alldaydrinker; Thanks Jeff; nose of grain, yeast, and fresh cut grass; clear amber with a big light tan head; flavor of caramel, light raisiny fruitiness, and a bit of hop bitterness; very drinkable Calif Common!

12 oz. can. If only other beers could taste like this out of a can - I did not detect much of a "metallic" flavor to this one. Light aroma of malt with caramel. Flavor is slightly sweet, with a nice creamy, rich consistency.
