St. George Golden Ale is based on an old British recipe, but with an American twist - a slightly sweet, malty flavor with a citrusy finish. It has a thick, creamy head and is golden amber in color.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel color with an enormous foamy orange-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was tangy and sweet with dark and golden fruits and a hint of perfume. The flavor was tangy and sweet sugar, dark and golden fruits, yeast and a hint of perfume. Medium length finish. Light to medium body and very overcarbonated. Solid.

Another one from my VA haul, reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy yellow to light orange color with a slight transparency about it allowing a light carbonation to be seen rising throughout the beer. Light foamy head dissipated within about thirty seconds and barely left any lacing in its wake.
The smell had a sweet corn to citrus - slightly lemon with a light grassiness about it.
The taste was mainly sweet with a slight refreshing sort of crisp grassy edge to the flavor.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat subdued but carried a nice crisp sharpness about it.
Overall, decent blonde ale that I think I could do again.

Hazy, dark gold. Slightly hoppy, yet smooth. Goes down real easy; a good choice for a session beer.

Bottle. Pours a clear medium amber/gold with a small off-white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Floral and malt aroma. Flavor has slightly bigger bite with a caramely malty forward. Bitter aftertaste. All in all a very drinkable beer.

Total Wine & More, Chantilly 12oz ($2): Pours something darker than golden with a white head. Aroma is citrus hops, but there is a malt backbone. Taste got some bread at the finish, sufficiently bitter hops, and a nice malty feel throughout. Good balance overall. A good unintrusive session with a good body.

Golden orange with a white head. Medium sweetness, light cereal grains, some mid-level citrus and fruity hops. Real nice mouth feel on this. Easy drinking, nice tasting, refreshing. Perfect for warm weather drinking.

Bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville. Pours peach colored with a good sized head and good lacing. Very sweet honey-ish aroma. Taste is smooth with a grapefruit-ish tang. Not bad.

The bouquet was particularly strong and fruity hops dominate. The pour lacked any sort of head and was a pleassant red tinted gold. The flavor was well hopped, a bit yeast, and stayed a little too long.

Bottle. Grapefruit and maple syrup aroma - very unusual. Cloudy amber with small head. Strong grapefruit hops flavor throughout - very little malt. Moderate acidity. An APA that leans towards IPA.

Amber, copper colored gold with a thin but creamy white head. Slightly hoppy aroma, citrusy smell. Malty taste with hoppy notes, citrus and piney. Clean finish. Not bad, but far from great.
