For the 2021 edition of Sunshine Under Ground we’ve forgone the lactose. It’s still super pale and retains that soft velvetiness thanks to a base of Pilsner, oat and wheat. A light touch of Cascade and Lemondrop, followed by a heavy touch of double dry zesting leaves this beer with all the lemony goodness it deserves.

440ml can, sophiesbeerstore.co.uk. Unclear gold appearance, receding white foam. Flavour profile is quite interesting, some vivid lemon zest pairing nicely with a very subtle lactose sweetness. Crisp bitterness. Decent pale malt backbone. Very good.

Keg draught at BrewDog Leicester. Light gold, hazy with a ring of white head. Aroma is dominated by rose petals with underlying grapefruit. Rosewater in the taste with some delicious grassy and citrus character underneath. The more I drink the more it tastes like a 'normal' beer with wheat sweetness and increased citrus flavour. Short finish with a light body and heavy carbonation. Strange but fun. And good.

Tap at BD Cambridge. Low key musty fruit aroma. Hazy yellow gold. Thin  creamy white head sticks to the rim. Fruity. Stone fruit touch of citrus. Underlying sweet syrupy steak. Sherbert in the tail. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average carbonation. Dry slightly astringent finish. Easy drinking if not overly exciting.
