For the 2021 edition of Sunshine Under Ground we’ve forgone the lactose. It’s still super pale and retains that soft velvetiness thanks to a base of Pilsner, oat and wheat. A light touch of Cascade and Lemondrop, followed by a heavy touch of double dry zesting leaves this beer with all the lemony goodness it deserves.

Keg @ Brewdog Helsinki. Poured golden color with a thin white head. Lemon dominates, then vanilla sweetness. Way too sweet for me, nice lemon notes but that wont save this one I'm afraid.

Can. Color: Hazy yellow to orange, long lasting frothy white head. Aroma: Lemon, bitter lemon zest, hop. Taste: Moderate sweet, smooth and creamy, lactose. Bit overwhelming strong bitter and tart lemon zest. Very light sourness, above all that fruity zesty bitterness. Notes of lemon, moderate hopbitterness, herbal hints. Medium body, below average carbonation. Long lasting finish with bitter lemon zest palate. Would have been better with less zesty bitterness and somewhat more sourness in my opinion.

Can. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Pale, vibrant gold. Fully opaque. Leggy, thin, white head. Nose has lemon pip sweets. Lemon juice. Milkshake. Some zesty orange. Hint of peach. Definitely smells how you might expect. Taste is milky sweet, with a fairly punchy, lemon zest, tart bitterness. Mouthfeel is really smooth. Very creamy in fact. Low carbonation. More tartness on the palate. More of the punchy lemon bitterness to finish. Enjoyed this one, but might have enjoyed it even more, if that tart bitterness had been toned down a bit.
