Draft at DT. Pours a dark brown to black with a small beige head that dissipates. Dark chocolate and malt aromas. Palate is similar, but silky smooth. Drying finish but balanced.

16 oz can from the brewery. Pours a deep brown with a light tan head. Roasty coffee aroma, creamy with molasses. Flavor has roasty malts, coffeee, dark cocoa. This is a well-done porter.

16 ounce prowler into pint glass, filled on 8/30/2019. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a small fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of molasses, licorice, raisin, fig, date, smoke, char, herbal, wood, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/black/roast/bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with big strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of molasses, licorice, raisin, fig, date, smoke, char, herbal, wood, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal, wood, grassy, peppery, roast, charred bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark bread/crust, molasses, licorice, dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, wood, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with an awesome roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Light-medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6%. Overall this is an excellent English porter. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/charred/drying finish; great soft feel. Awesomely rich well rounded English malt complexity; solid earthy hops and restrained fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and impressive spot on style example as expected.
