A beer designed to help you beat the heat. So light and refreshing you may not realize when you finished your glass. Brewed with a good amount of wheat and a hint of caramel, hopped with Ahtanum and spiked with orange zest and juice, this one finishes very dry.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: cloudy dark yellow to orange color with a finger and a half's worth of white foamy head which took it's time to dissipate nicely then leave some subtle lace
Aroma: orange pulp, orange zest, melon, subtle sweet wheat, clean grassy hop edges, and floral tones
Flavor: blends all the prior noted aromas together semi-tart with a brisk sweetness and then a mild funk; slight melon to orange pulpy to zesty aftertaste
Texture: light to medium bodied, somewhat sessionable; pretty even keeled as it rolls across my tongue (kinda was expecting some kind of abrasion but nothing, uhhhmmm, well okay then); finishes with the orange juice-like zesty toned and floral to melon features
Overall: a very nicely done saison coming across pretty refreshing, I believe I could come back to this.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 7/11/2019. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy medium golden amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lightly tart/tangy orange juice, lemon, lime, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, melon, red apple, coriander, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, cracker, white bread, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of oranges/zest, fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big lightly tart/tangy orange juice, lemon, lime, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, melon, red apple, coriander, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, cracker, white bread, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy bitterness; pepper/clove yeast spiciness; and light citrus tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy orange juice, lemon, lime, citrus peel/rind, peach, pear, melon, red apple, coriander, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, cracker, white bread, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of oranges/zest, fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with a fantastic malt/bitter/spiciness and tart/tangy citrus balance; with no astringent hop/fruit flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness, tart/tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky/resinous/rindy, and lightly acidic/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.5%. Overall this is a fantastic fruited Belgian saison. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of oranges/zest, fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Amazing balance of vibrant citrus, Belgian yeast, pale/wheat malts, and earthy noble hops. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing spot on style example as expected.

500ml bottle shared by Ben. Pretty awesome saison. Toasty subtle malt, interesting zesty citrus tinged wheat tones. Quite an excellent Saison, light to medium bodied, hyper sessionable. I’d be really happy if I brewed this beer. Delicate, quite well done. Fast forward to 2023. 16oz 5.5% version. Thinking this one can't be the same beer I had in 2015 at all. Unappealing orange flavor trying to cover high temp brewing flaws presumably. Not that good. new numbers 6-3-6-3-12

At Great Taste 2015. Yellow color. Very dry flavor, a non sweetened saison. Some light spice and very drinkable, but nothing complex to offer either. I would have liked a little more complexity, but as a session saison this is very good.

Paid $4.99 for a 500 ml bottle at Binny’s Lincoln Park location. Sticker on bottle of bottle reads Batch 45. Nice fresh citrus with orange peel, lemons and light yeast. Palate is subtle and clean. Lemon zest, oranges, spicy yeast notes and straw. The body is crisp and effervescent, really great feel becoming dry. Damn refreshing!

Pour is a hazy blonde with a large white head. Aroma is a citrus rind with wheat malt and fruit esters. Flavor is a biscuit malt with a bit of bubblegum and citrus. The flavor could of used a bit more of the yeast used but this is still a well made beer just not in the top tier of the style. The blurb on the bottle says this finishes dry and it sure does. A bit too dry for me.

Hazy orange 1 finger creamy head. Smells funky with a lot of citrus. Big creamy mouthfeel. Crisp and bready. Lots of orange citrus. Very watery though.

Draft pour on tap at Goose Island’s Belgian Fest 2013. This was the first beer I got because I was very interested in this new brewery. Pour is very hazy pale golden color with a small but long lasting head. Has a sticky lacing. Too hazy to see through. Aroma is bright clean esters with sharp apple and pear. Some uncitric lemon as well. Nice combo of yeast esters and a but of fruity hops coming though. Flavor has a bit more biscuit malt coming though with more clean esters. A mineral flavor finishes off to balance things out. Fuller mouthfeel with a good carbonation. Real nice stuff.
