Ridiculously hazy golden, peach and orange coloured body with a deep, robust orange and copper tint, all about 85% opaque, with a very thin, single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of grass, citrus, hay, flowers and a dash of bitter resin, but the orange and grapefruit are the strongest here. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong citrusey flavours dominate here with a dash of flowers, resinous hops, alcohol and yeast with a lot of medicinal astringency along with some metallic flavours to add to the bitterness with a lot of hay and malts, a bit moreso than the [still largely present] hops. Aftertaste shows the grain and astringency more than anything with a lot of alcohol and hops and ending with a lot of flavours and pungency on the end with the oranges and grapefruits the strongest and some dry herbal hops as well. Overall, a more deep and pungent take on the style with a relatively low amount of alcohol, but feels and tastes like much more, due to the other bitterness from the dry malts and the astringent notes. I sampled this sixteen ounce can, purchased from The Beer Store in Franklin Mills [Philadelphia], Pennsylvania on 05-October-2019 for US$6,99 sampled at home in Washington on 25-November-2019.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned in 7/2019. Pours opaquely hazy deep golden/orange/amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew, watermelon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, green pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of huge mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew, watermelon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, green pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, red apple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew, watermelon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, green pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, fairly sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 8%. Overall this is a fantastic NEDIPA. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish. Nicely soft feel, and not aggressive. Fantastic Citra, Ekuanot, El Dorado profile. Extremely juicy and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great balanced wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and impressive spot on style example as expected.
