12 ounce can into pint glass; no can dating, but was just released. Pours fairly hazy pale golden/yellow/light pinkish color with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy pink guava, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, peach, pear, melon, red apple, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of wood, pepper, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of guava, pale/wheat malts, and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy pink guava, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, peach, pear, melon, red apple, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of wood, pepper, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy pink guava, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, peach, pear, melon, red apple, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, wood, pepper, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of guava, pale/wheat malts, and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness and tart/tangy fruit balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and tart/tangy fruit. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky/grainy, and fairly sticky/acidic/tangy/tannic mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.3%. Overall this is an excellent fruited kolsch! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of guava, pale/wheat malts, and light-moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; very smooth, refreshing, and fairly crisp/clean to drink with the mellowly bitter/acidic/tangy drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Awesome balance between authentic juicy guava and clean pale/wheat malts; with nice earthy hop presence/balance, and restrained yeast fruitiness. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive spot on base style example.
