Another stupid ass IPA in a can. Mild sweet hop aroma. Hazy none the less. Big giant foaming head spills over my mug. Taste of course is big bitter rubber IPA. Lets all chew on green grapefruit rinds mixed with fresh chopped inner tube. Whew. What else can be said except its terribly on style. Not impressed. Someday I'm gonna quit buying these IPA for ticks. Maybe I'll start right now; I thought my papalte would mature enough to appreciate these things but it looks like its never gonnah happen. WTF?

Sample at the Columbus taproom during the Platform Columbus 2-Year Anniversary Celebration on 12/29/2018. Hazy orange-gold color with a medium frothy white head that burns away quickly to a film. Short strings of lace. Aroma of citrus, floral hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of grapefruit, floral hops, melon and bready malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Above average overall.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 12/10/2018. Pours very hazy/cloudy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big red grapefruit, tangerine, orange juice, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, red apple, wood, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, wheat, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big red grapefruit, tangerine, orange juice, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, red apple, wood, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, wheat, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, floral, grassy, peppery hops; and yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of red grapefruit, tangerine, orange juice, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berries, red apple, wood, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, wheat, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, lightly sticky, and slightly resinous/rindy mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.9%. Overall this is an outstanding NEIPA. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruity/spicy yeast, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Awesome soft feel, not aggressive. Awesome Cascade/Loral profile, along with the Voss Kviek yeast. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops/yeast; with a great balanced wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.
