Here is a sumptuous ale reminiscent of the classic Black Forest cake. Its roasted malt aroma and dark chocolate flavours are the perfect complement to the delicate fruity accents that lead to a slightly tart finish. You’re in for a treat with our Black Forest without having to give in to your sweet tooth.

11.2oz bottle. Always exciting to see a new Unibroue beer. Vivacious effervescent carbonation. Thin beige head on top of a maybe faint red-hued black body. Pretty solid beer, captures the chocolate-cherry taste without being cloying, medicinal. Some alcohol warmth in the finish. Very unique. Full bodied, but not sticky. Good.

Tasting at Matt's, corked bottle
Black color with large compact beige head. Light aroma of malt, vanilla, fruits. Strong body, malt flavor, caramel, strong fruits too (maybe cherry), sweet, strong alcohol, a bit earthy and astringent in the final. The acidity and earthiness are not a good combination.
Not very pleasant.

Pours ruby-tinged brown into a snifter. Tan head with little retention recedes to pool surface. Chocolate liquor-soaked dark cherry aromas. Soft with chocolate covered cherry front to back, mildly tart cherry and malt finish.

Bottle: Poured a dark brown color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of candi sugar, sweet caramelized malt with some sweet cherry juice notes. Taste is also a good mix of candi sugar with some yeast ester, some caramelized malt with some cherry juice. Body is full with good carbonation with no real apparent alcohol notes. Base beer is really interesting but cherry taste ends up being overwhelming and lacks attenuation.
