Bottle. Pitch black body with a small, dense, lacing beige head that seems to stay like a lid. Nice aroma of dark, roasted malt, dry fruit, mild coffee and hint of licorices. Flavor with smooth dark malt and similar to aroma, but really smooth. Balanced body and smooth aftertaste as well. A really pleasant one.

Bottle from The Gul, North Vancouver
Black colour, medium sized light brown head. Decent malt flavour, with some burnt sugar, light alcohol feeling but overall well hidden, hints of dark prunes (mostly in the aroma); it's a bit metallic in the finish. It's quite good.

330ml on Alex's deck. Appearance: almost black with a 👌 beige head. Aroma: some dark fruits, brown sugar, and roasted malts. Taste: along the same lines with some roasty notes, that are usually intrinsic to the stouts. Not thick as for 11.5% ABV. Well it's nitro... Overall: pretty good.

Rich and complex olfactive combining notes of chocolate, prunes, dates and pepper with a sweet malty base and dominant esters. The Nitro effect is light, giving a fairly creamy foam that lingers well on the dark brown liquid, clear, with reddish reflections. Black fruits invade our palate as soon as the mouth enters, allowing a few spices and ash notes to develop. Bitterness and sweet alcohol heat make up the finish which still spreads its sugars for a few seconds. The notes are dates, prunes, chocolate, pepper and alcohol. The body is quite greasy, the texture soft and enveloping. But, the carbonation is pretty flat for this kind of beer. The nitro effect is not there at all. Generally acceptable overall.

330ml brown bottle from the LCBO. I do not see a nitro ball in the bottle, so no explosions. Pours dark brown colour with copper-ruby highlights, a small mocha-coloured head that seems to stay on top, looking like a Nespresso. Lots of dark fruits in the aroma, but mostly raisins take over. Hints of wheat with banana notes. The mouthfeel is definitely smooth, silky with some dryness in the finish. Dark fruits, roasted malts and hops for flavours. This Quad does goes down very nicely. Dangerous !
