Light haze on this deep amber beer, small tan head. Palate is light and fairly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Mild chocolate and a bare whisper of red wine. Light dry finish. Not hating this but it just lacks body and the rich flavoursome punch of the best.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ W. van Schaik, Vianen. Very dark mahogany red with a beige head. Dark caramel aroma, raisins, oak, red wine. Medium bitter taste with some sweetness and a light sour touch. Finish is very warming and long lasting, almost bourbon-like. Very good.

Bottle. Color: Very dark ruby, beige head. Aroma: Malt, red fruit, vinuous notes. Taste: Malty, dark fruit, figs, red wine. Hints of caramel, nuts, wood and light hints of vanille. Medium to over medium sweet. Over medium body, below average carbonation. Pretty well balanced when the bottle is just opened but getting unbalanced after a while. Bit sirupy. Boozy and bittery, somewhat harsh long lasting finish. Not bad but there are better and less harsh alternatives.

Quite good beige head over spectacular dark beer with deep burgundy reflections. Vinous nose, liquorice, natural reduced fruitsyrup. Sweet, wine with molasses, caramel, somewhat old malts. Finish has old cookies, even some cardboard. Velvety MF, alcoholburn, slick to viscous. From the blurb, one was entitled to expect more.
