28/IV/17 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: XII/2017 (2017-554)
Clear deep orange to amber beer, creamy beige head, very stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: oh yeas, some sweet caramel malts, combined with ripe tropical fruits, mango, lychee, lovely stuff! Turns a bit chemical after warming up though. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet malty start, some caramel, mango, bit sugary, yeasty, pretty bitter. Aftertaste: bit sugary, caramel, orange peel, citrus, some grapefruit, papaya, little chemical bitterness.

(Re-rating - previous 3.7) Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (21A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L21012020 (BBF 102020). AROMA: medium hop aroma with notes of pine, resin and tropical fruits (mango). slight sweet and almost neutral malt background. APPEARANCE: light orange-ish color and clear. medium off-white head with good retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with medium-low pine, resin and slight mango. low sweet and almost neutral malt background. medium to medium-high bitterness with an almost dry and bitter finish. PALATE: medium-low body with medium carbonation. no astringency. OVERALL: a good IPA, with a NE touch.

Tap (Dois Corvos, Lisbon). Hazy golden colour with big white head and very good lacing. Tropical fruits rule in aroma which is quite intense. Sweet like candies, malty body in one site and light to medium bitterness in other site. Good balanced, medium body, hoppy with sweet finish, quite drinkable. Good sample of IPA.
