Got as a gift from RaulMondesi. 16 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours fairly hazy dark ruby red/purple color with a 1 finger dense light pink head with good retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of juicy blackberries, peach, plum, apricot, cherry, pear, red apple, red grape, fruit skin/seeds, pepper, clove, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, blackberries, and bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big juicy blackberries, peach, plum, apricot, cherry, pear, red apple, red grape, fruit skin/seeds, pepper, clove, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast spiciness and light fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of blackberries, peach, plum, apricot, cherry, pear, red apple, red grape, fruit skin/seeds, pepper, clove, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, blackberries, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance; and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from yeast spiciness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, fairly crisp, and lightly acidic/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7%. Overall this is a delicious fruited saison. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, blackberries, and bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the modestly spicy/drying finish. Definitely a ton of blackberries in this brew, but it still feels like a legit Saison. Plenty of fruity/spicy yeast character, perfectly balanced with fruit and bready malts. A very enjoyable offering, and unique style example.

500mL capped bottle. Bought it in discount at State Line, so not fresh. So, it's on me for being unprepared for the gusher once I popped the cap. Head fades rather quickly. That purple pink hue in a brown beer from the berries. It's one of those berry and malt sweet beer. I've had actual Belgian versions that were similar. There is a lot going on, tart sourness from berries as well. Each sip makes me oscillate between hate to like. At times the overly sweet character bothers me. But at other times I like the strong tart berries that are accentuated by strong Belgian malt base. So, depending on the sip it's between shit and ok.

Can, courtesy of dEnk, thanks a lot! Pink pour. Aroma of sweet blueberries, dry grassy yeast and mild spices. Taste has blueberries, dry yeast, grassy funky spice and some malt body. Solid fruit saison.

Bottle - medium purple with a foamy pink head - full, earthy blackberry nose, light funk, moderate tartness, mild sweetness - full carbonation in the mouth - dry, tart, moderately acidic, lightly funky - moderate spiciness arrives late - currant, berry, white grape - lingering spice and mildly sweet blackberry - interesting and refreshing.

Deep dark ruby and violet coloured body with a rich, four centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of blackberries, icing sugar, raspberries, figs, yeast and a lot of alcohol noticeable, along with bitterness. Medium-bodied; Assertive malt flavours up front with a lot of fruit noticeable as well, from strawberries to blueberries and definitely both - blackberries and raspberries. Aftertaste shows a good balance with much more of a european and fruity kick than a malty presence. Overall, an interesting beer with a ton of flavour and a full-finished sweet beer with a lot of nuances from other styles. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 25-April-2014 for US$8,00 sampled at home in Washington on 04-August-2014.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy red with thick frothy pink head that lasts. The aroma is funk, yeast, and faint fruit. Medium mouthfeel with strong yeast and dry fruit. Meh

Pours deep ruby into a tulip. Pink head with good retention recedes leaving spot lacing to coat surface. Blackberry aromas. Dry with sweet blackberry and dough upfront turning to dry, bitter seeds in the lasting finish.

Pour is a dark hazy red with a large pink head. Aroma is a berry fruit with some sugary malt and a nice yeast. Flavor is a tart berry with some sugar and a nice herbal fruit. Finish leaves a nice sweet-tart on the tongue as this goes down. Quite unusual but full of berry tartness.

Bottle from Whole Foods in Davis, CA. Pours dirty/hazy near purple with a foamy 4 finger pink head. Dirty pink. Well, the aroma is sort of soapy dark berry. Med body. Flavor is floral/perfumey dark berry. Saison? It’s sort of soapy, and the earthiness is sort of lost in fruit. It certainly is dry, and that’s a plus. Bottom line: This beer is a new challenge - and we all know there have been lots of challenges in craft beer - so kudos to a step over the event horizon. It’s certainly not going to comfortably fit into saison or fruit beer. Just now my mind is fragmenting over what foods would go with this. I’m thinking Cowgirl Redhawk on oat crackers.
