Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een oranje kleurig bier met stevige witte schuimkraag. De smaak is hoppig, bitter en fruitig. De nasmaak is bitter.

Oranje kleurig bier met mooie stevige schuimkraag. Smaak is bitter hoppig en fruitig met iets van citrus en grapefruit. Stevige bittere nasmaak die lang blijft hangen.

Bottle from Prik & Tik, Sijsele. Shared with the lovely Anke. Pours clear dark golden-orange with a lasting, thin, frothy, off-white head; lots of (irregular) lacing. Aroma of overripe peach, nectarine, orange, red apple, dough, yeast & wort, grass, white pepper, kitchen herbs, some (dank) onion. Taste is medium fruity sweet, notes of overripe fruit, peach, red apple & yeast; light to medium hoppy bitter middle with orange peel, bitter mango, some spices & grass; faint sourish accent of unripe mandarin & lemon in the back. Dry, floral & grassy hoppy finish, lingering (sweet) yeast, overripe fruit. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Feels too yeasty & crude, I wanted to give it more but I expected more as well.

Golden colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have loght hop bitterness. Gets really dry in the finish. A bit thin and watery.

The 7th in this series, named after White Pony, an Italian 'bierfirma' that has been active in Belgium for years now. Fairly thick, egg-white, mousy head, slowly showing some gaps in the middle, lacing in patches, enhanced by both wheat and hops; initially lightly misty, pale orange-hued warm 'old gold' robe with a lively string of small bubbles rising up in the centre, shifting to overall mistiness and a deeper orangey hue with sediment. Aroma of the white underside of an orange peel, moist white pepper, bitter weeds, dry bread crust, unripe banana, old leek, faint notes of 'hoppy' urine, grapefruit, gum. Fruity onset, some green banana and unripe pear, low sweetness with a sourish edge reinforced by very minerally carb; supple, bread crumb-like maltiness, while a robust hop bitterness builds, to a long, 'weedy' bitter finish with damp straw-like notes, dry and resinous. The bready baseline, however, keeps supporting this powerful bitterness. IPA the Belgian way, not very aromatically fruity as you get often these days, but emphasizing its 52 IBUs in the form of a strong bitterness. The advantage is that this lends this beer, situated below 5% ABV and in that sense indeed qualifying as a session IPA, quite some body, it feels a bit fuller than it is - and that is still a key feature of any good session IPA. I was hoping for more brightness in the aromatic department, though; feels more like a Belgian 'bitter blond', so the Belgian influence remains clear enough.

Sampled at Zythos Beer Festival 2018. Hazy golden amber color white head. Aroma of white wine and orange peel. Taste is bitter orange. tasty

Bottle from LDW, Eke. Hazy amber/yellow colour, white foam. Nose of tropical fruit, pine, butter, diacetyl. Taste is buttery, lots of diacetyl, overpowering the citrussy freshness. A pity.

Tap@Taphouse, Copenhagen - Murky golden pour with white head. Very sweet fruity and malty, some butterscotch, caramel, light pine needles, pretty moody.
