Can from 8 Degrees Plato. Pours a clear gold orange with a finger of foam. Grapefruit, pine and toasted caramel malt on the nose. Extreme astringent bitterness with an unpleasant yeast-burn character on the palate. More pine and aggressive, 90s homebrew bitterness on the palate. Lingering bitterness. Lingering bitter finish that kills all nuance in this.

Sample at The Draft Room during the Ellison Brewery Launch Event on 02/28/2019. Hazy yellow-gold color with a medium white head that dissipates gradually to a film. Partial rings of lace. Floral hops, citrus and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of piney hops, zesty citrus and bready malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a floral hoppy aftertaste. Above average overall.

Can. Pours a near clear yellow with a a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has a good amount of citrus rind with some resin, pine and a light grain backbone underlying. Flavor starts with citrus and has a bit of pine growing and a light sweet grain backbone.

16 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Pours crystal clear golden/amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, light caramel, lightly toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, light caramel, lightly toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, lemon/orange rind, pepper, pine, light caramel, lightly toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance; and minimal lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.25%. Overall this is a fantastic IPA! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink, despite the increasingly bitter/drying/resinous finish. Insanely dank and vibrant on hop complexity; nice malt backbone, with no residual sweetness. A highly enjoyable offering.
