Hazy red brown.
Mix of caramel malt, toffee and aromatic hops.
Good caramel and bread malt up front and then the dry hopped hops move in and I don’t like that.
Good mouthfeel. Only worthy for a try.

On tap at the Balpark Brewfest Hazy Amber full lasting tan head. Amber malts and plenty of fresh potter piney hop flavors. Fairly bitter nice balance

Overly sweet, mixing caramel and coconut(?) notes with deeper lager esters and a medicinal fade. Heavy duty Lagunitas malts offer a sticky, sweet bun-ish middle, yet the bitterness doesn’t play off the breakfast pastry elements all that well. Dry hopping helps shore up the sugary side, and a citric-dank undertone pops up on the finish. Cat pee and coconut on the nose, pretty dark red color with a healthy head and ample lace. Creamy texture is nice as well. Just a tad too much on the sweet side for me.

Bottle from Winco. Beautiful pour, deep amber with a lasting thick, creamy head. Nice malty aroma, grainy. Taste has a gentle sweetness, malty, caramel, toffee, butterscotch. Smooth and silky. Creamy lager goes down smooth.

Bomber from a local grocery. Pours clear copper with a foamy light beige head. Aroma seems moderately fruity. Maybe a bit of slightly roasty malt. Maybe a very light touch of earth. Med body or nearly. Mild carbonation. Flavor is slightly roasty malt with not quite enough hop. Doesn’t seem very dry or very bitter. It’s a pleasant thing. Makes a nice change. Wouldn’t mistake it for Anchor Steam tho.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 5/8/2017. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy deep orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger dense and fluffy cream colored head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, mango, melon, citrus zest, caramel, brown sugar, and brown bread; with light notes of pepper, pine, nuttiness, toast, toffee, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt and citrus/fruity hop notes; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, mango, melon, citrus zest, caramel, brown sugar, and brown bread; with light notes of pepper, pine, nuttiness, toast, toffee, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine/grassy/spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, mango, melon, citrus zest, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, light toffee/nuttiness, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and citrus/fruity hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light dryness from lingering bitterness, lightly increasing through the glass. Very clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.9%. Overall this is a nice hoppy bock style. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt and citrus/fruity hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. It has the usual Lagunitas hop profile I expected, but it’s not overly bitter or drying; with a nice clean malt profile. A very enjoyable offering.
