Specially kilned Crystal malt and a generous portion of American cascade hops are used for a refreshing, spicy aroma, and a long, dry finish. Great with food, it’s big, bold, and bittersweet.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 9/1/2016. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light honey/caramel, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of bright citrus/pine hops and moderate pale malt/fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light honey/caramel, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, lemon/orange peel, pine, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/pine hops and moderate pale malt/fruity yeast flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent hop flavors lingering after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp/sticky, fairly creamy/grainy, and lightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.3%. Overall this is an excellent pale ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/pine hops and moderate pale malt/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. Very vibrant and pretty juicy on hop/yeast flavors; with a solid malt backbone that never feels too sweet. A very enjoyable offering.

Hazy amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is airy, mildly dry and has good fine carbonation. Smooth malts, nice light creamy sweetness. Hops are spicy orange, orange peel, mild pine and a nice mellow touch of mango. Light finish. Clean and super drinkable but lacks the wonderful hop intensity of it’s IPA and DIPA siblings.

Pils type glass draft (~ 20 oz) at the Columbus Brewing bar in the Columbus airport. The pour is a lightly hazed golden with a small white head. The aroma is soft floral and citrus fruit hop, along with grainy malt. The taste is somewhat muted hop up front, floral, resin, earth, then the grainy biscuit malt carries the finish, which is dry and clean. The palate is light to medium bodied, with soft carbonation. Nice mineral element in the back as well. Easy drinker.

12oz bottle. Better than I expected straight up off the bat, well hopped, nice grapefruit cascade feel. Unfiltered orange-brown, greyed..murky. Thin, steady off-white head. Earthy and full bodied, pretty rich for a beer of 5.3%. Soapy and astringent after awhile, would really benefit from filtration...too heavy and yeasty to really session. Certainly a decent offering.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Columbus/Dublin. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of big floral and citrus hops with some spiciness. The taste is citrus and spicy hop notes, caramel malts and a tart finish. Medium bodied. Decent, but a little off balance.

Bottle pours a deep clear mahogany with a huge fluffy light tan head. This may have been due to the glass being frozen. Sweet slightly acidic almost lemony aromas, not much hops apparent. The malt flavors are pale a bit drap and woody. Lke an old basement but not objectionable. Still not much bittering, fairly unballanced in this area I’d say. Still, tasty and easy to put down. Very lively carbonation and a moderate feel. Thanks to Ohiodad for this one.
