On closer inspection as this fantastically quaffable porter warms up it reveals cold brew coffee, oaty granola and an abominable amount of chocolate biscuits.

Can. Mahogany beer with a light brown head. Toasted malt and light roast aroma. Caramel and light chocolate flavor with light toasted malt. Medium bodied. Caramel and light chocolate linger with light toasted malt.

Dark brown, near black with a frothy tan head and a mellow coffee and chocolate aroma. Up front it’s coffee and dry bitterness with some fruit, chocolate and roasted malt closing it off ahead of a dry fruity finish

440ml can as part of a delivery from the brewery and drunk at home. Dark brown, slightly opaque with a ring of beige head. Big malty smell, some coffee, ash, cooking chocolate. Sweet taste, more coffee and some brighter plum. Rounded finish with a light oily body and heavy carbonation. Beautifully understated.

Cask (handpump) @ The Famous Royal Navy Volunteer, 17-18 King Street, Gloucestershire, BS1 4EF Bristol, England.[ As Electric Bear Inspector Remorse ].Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, dark malt, roasted, chocolate, roasted - chocolate. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, chocolate, dark malt, sweet malt, roasted - chocolate, bread. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20170807] 6-4-7-3-14

Handpump @Luppolo Station (Rome). Bruna/nera, schiuma beige media. Al naso note di cappuccino, cremino, caffè. In bocca manca di spunto nella chiusura amara, anonima. Corpo medio-leggero, carbonazione soft. Deludente.

Keg at the Brewery tap, Bath, 02/02/19. Black with a decent tan cap. Nose is cocoa powder, raisens, toffee crisp, dark malts, light black peppery spice. Taste comprises chocolate biscuit, toffee, roast malts, light spice, dried fruits, hint of liquorice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Decent well rounded porter.
