Our Scotch ale is light brown in color with a tan head. Brewed with a unique combination of five malts and hopped in the Scottish tradition. The gives an intensely rich yet clean malt flavor with subtle dark dried fruit notes that finishes slightly sweet.
This beer was the 2012 Mid-West Regional Gold medal winner at the United States Beer Tasting Championships.

12 ounce bottle into snifter, no bottle dating. Pours hazy dark brown color with a small dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big raisin, prune, fig, date, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, molasses, brown bread, light herbal/leather, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and solid complexity of dark/bready malt, fruity yeast, and light earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big raisin, prune, fig, date, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, molasses, brown bread, light nuttiness, light herbal/leather, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal bitterness/fruity yeast tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark fruit, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, molasses, brown bread, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good robustness/balance and solid complexity of dark/bready malt, fruity yeast, and light earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitter/tartness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Some dryness as well. Light carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, fairly creamy, and lightly slick mouthfeel that is okay; very thin for the style. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very solid Wee Heavy. All around good robustness/balance and solid complexity of dark/bready malt, fruity yeast, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to sip on for the ABV. Likely that this bottle is 4-5 years old, but it held up well. Very mild oxidation. A fairly enjoyable offering.

12 oz bottle, no date. Brown sugar molasses, raisin aroma. Flavors also if strong red wine grape, raisin, molasses, some aged hops. A fairly intense one that feels a little out of date, but is a great beverage.
