The richest of all Belgian ales, the Quadrupel is not for the faint of heart. Pouring deep amber, ours is mellow in color but rich with flavor. Look for plum, dried cherry and fig esters with mild phenolic spice notes and a dry finish.

Can from Eddy's Beverage, Inc., Saratoga Springs. Lightly hazy reddish-brown with lots of dark floaties, nice sparkle, ring of head, no lacing. Aroma is caramel malt and dark fruit. Taste follows aroma. Smooth, frothy texture, soft carbonation, finish as taste. I expect this style to be sweet but there is something missing here--lack of carbonation, lack of yeasty complement or something where there's no counterpoint to make this pop. Not a favorite quad of mine.

Hot damn guys what are we doing here and where did this come from? Never heard of them so this is my first beer from the brewery and they've really put together a real quad! Brownish, hazy, small head. Nose gives lots of darker fruits, fig. Brown sugar. Very faint phenol. Flavor similar, with a big bruised fruit sweetness, mild efferverscence carries to a lightly spicy (and also tannic?) and lightly boozy finish. Plenty of dark fruit notes abound, sugar and spice and everything nice. It's maybe somewhat less complex than I'm letting on (certainly less complex than Westy 12) but they've really hit the mark here.

Pint can - hazy purple with a tan lace - nose of deeply caramelized malt, dark fruit, peppery and dusty Belgian yeast - flavor is deep malt, plum, pepper, moderate basement/dust - finish is spicy, earthy, lingering dark fruit, light tannic character - actually a really good representation of the style and one of the best beers I’ve had from them.

Pour is a murky river water brown with a barely there tan head. Aroma is dark fruit, dark candi sugar and alcohol. Flavor is dark fruit a little tootsie roll sweetness but a big warm hit of alcohol. I can't say this is my favorite quad. A pretty good dark sugary fruit but does not hide the alcohol at all.

Poured up on tap at Tipsy where it exhibits a mahogany colored body that supports a thin light tan head of foam. The modest aroma offers up prunes and figs and then caramel drizzled dates. Nice. The taste delivers smooth supple prune to plum to fig like sweet fruity esters. Toward midway a murmur of kettle caramelization can just be noticed integrating into the esters. Yes. This is smooth and integrated with no annoying brightness. Nice stuff.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear dark brown with a slight transient tan head. Aroma of malt and dark fruit. Full bodied. Dry. Well not entirely dry. Lightly bitter. Flavor is malt, dark fruit and notes of banana and yeast/spice. Also kandi. And definitely some heat. Rather ravishing drink.

Can, from Beermiscuous, Chicago (Aug 2023). Faintly cloudy dark brown/copper with a small foamy dark beige head, woodsy dried dark fruits aroma, adequate carbonation, initially sweet woodsy caramel taste with dried dark fruits, alcohol undertones, prune, berries, smooth thin body, long woodsy finish. A great brew!

Aromas are dark malt with a little roast and candy sugar. Flavors are similar to nose, pretty bland and the barest suggestion of Belgian yeast. Definitely not double fermented. One and done.

On tap at Centennial Crafted, pours a clear dark amber mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, toasted caramel and bready malt. Flavour is malty and yeasty, with Belgian yeast, toasted caramel and a touch of dark fruits. Light-bodied but pleasant and not too estery.
