Sampled from a 750 ml bottle this beer poured a dark golden color with a large foamy orange-beige head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was sweet, sour caramel, fruity hops and toffee. The flavor was bitter with caramel, mixed fruity hops, almost ginger and crystal malt. Long caramel, crystal malt and fruity hop finish. Medium body. Ok.

This beer is a slightly hazy amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, yeast and hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of bready malt, earthy yeast and citrusy hops. The finish is mildly bitter with a grassy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a golden hue with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has notes of sweet grains with a bit of bread and just a hint of grass. Flavor is similar with sweet bread and grains throughout with a hint of cookie as well as a touch of grass.

750 ml bottle into signature pint glass; no bottle dating, but was a recent release. Pours lightly hazy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon zest, orange peel, pear, apple, grape, honey, biscuit, cracker, floral, grass, and herbal earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of hop, malt, and fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon zest, orange peel, pear, apple, grape, honey, biscuit, cracker, floral, grass, and herbal earthiness. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon zest, orange peel, pear, apple, grape, honey, biscuit, cracker, floral, grass, and herbal earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of malt, hop, and fruity yeast flavors; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, bready, and moderately crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good blonde ale. All around good balance and robustness of hop, malt, and fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Pours gold into a Sam glass. White head with good retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Mild biscuit aromas. Astringent with butterscotch and bitter earth front to back. Tastes like a current day Shipyard...

Location: 22 oz bottle from Sparrow, 12/27/13

Aroma: The nose is bready and German malts, grains, dirt, spice, and some grass
Appearance: It pours a clear, clean orange color with a finger of white head and medium lacing
Flavor: The taste is mid-sweet, with a grainy malt flavor, with notes of honey, spice, and grassy hop
Palate: The body is light, leaning medium, clean and crisp, lively carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: Congrats to Rogue, 25 years in a hell of an accomplishment (and a nice looking bottle)! As for the beer, it's not great, but not bad either. I see it's an ale, but for some reason it really reminds me of a Pilsner.
