Floral, spicy, bready and sweet, Summit Winter Ale is a cozy brew made specially to help add warmth to winter nights. Brewed with English and German hops that offer floral and spicy notes, it’s balanced by roasted and pale malts. Based on the British Winter Warmer style, this brew’s toasted malt flavor mixes with hints of espresso, caramel and black cherry for a velvety smooth finish. It’s sure to warm your cockles. Whatever those are.

12oz bottle from Pick’s poured into an English Pint. Pours black with a half finger of off-white head. Aroma of coffee, caramel and roasty malt. Taste is light bitter. Coffee and caramel. Medium bodied with a somewhat thin texture. Lively carbonation and a long coffee finish. Overall, I’m digging this beer. Great for tonight when it’s a solid 15 degrees outside.

Pour is a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is a decent caramel malt. Flavor is malty with some weird souness. Finish has some cocoa and roast. Ok but nothing great.

12oz shorty bottle. Deep brown-red-black with a big beige head. Dark sweet malt and maybe a touch of cinnamon in the aroma. Pretty nice actually. certainly not unlike Anchor OSA stylistically. The thick, sweet malt tones balance perfectly with the hops and spices. On the lighter side of full bodied, drinkable but full of depth and flavor as well. Really a tasty and respectable beer.
