Monday 5th August 2024, the last Minutemat led Shrewsbury Beer Gathering, five guys, loads of beer and bollox. I brought this cork and caged 75cl bottle, it was the 2009 version, #400 of 429 at 7.2%. Good for 25 years the label claimed. Sadly it was not at it's best and lacked a bit of 'oomph and life', should have opened it five years ago!

Clear deep red to purple brown beer, practically no head. Aroma: malty, oxidized (obviously), a bit fruity, dried fruits, gentle roast, spicy notes, some chocolate. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: alcohol burn, good roast, alcohol, lots of it, dry, spicy, bitter, hoppy, more roast. Aftertaste: caramel, alcohol, spicy, oxidized, more roast, alcohol, chocolate, good one! This held up very well!
