Bourbon Barrel-Aged Chocolate Coffee Stout
KBS gets its coffee fix in the very first variant to come from our beloved bourbon barrel-aged stout. Yes, KBS may already be brewed with coffee, but it gets some extra oomph when it’s aged on espresso beans after being removed from barrels. The result is a fresh and snappy coffee twist on our classic barrel-aged beer. Who says you can’t start your day with a barrel-aged stout?

Black. Aroma is chocolate coffee pecan vanilla deep caramel. Taste is sweet chosolate with deep espresso and very smooth vanilla. Nice.

15cl draft @ The Bishops Arms Gamla Stan, Stockholm.
Noire sur huile de moteur, huileux doré au verre, col léger crémeux moka.
Arôme sur un bouquet bien malté, caramel, grillé, vanille/boisé avec un Bourbon tout autant classique que dans la KBS. La touche de café/espresso est bien là mais sans en devenir surfaite.
Palais est épais malté, chocolaté, grillé/toasté avec un caractère 'dark sugar' et un retour imédiat de Bourbon, ce dernier avec le boisé offre une fine note de douceur vanillée à laquelle s'ajoute le fini espresso. Pointe d'amertume du café en fin de bouche, côté cacao nibs et un volet alcool bien présent tout au long.

Bottle at home from Sterk, Amsterdam, New Years Eve, pre party, 31st December 22. Pours a black thick stout. Aroma is coffee and coffee beans, dark chocolate and caramel. Taste is rich, bitter coffee and dark chocolate covered coffee beans, green coffee bean, roasted malts and cocoa. Great livener for the afternoon and evening ahead, quality KBS.

Draught, taster. @Barcelona Beer Festival 2022, Barcelona (Spain). 14/10/2022 [#5.429 Global - #815 United States of America - #10 Founders Brewing Company] Pours black with a lasting tan head. Aroma: roasted coffee beans, wood, liquorice and brown sugar. Taste: espresso coffee, chocolate malts, mild bourbon barrels. Long dark chocolate finish. Tiramisu coming through. Next one please!

Pours black into a tulip. Mocha head with good retention recedes to hug rim. Hot espresso and chocolate front to back. Hot lasting bourbon and vanilla finish.

Bottle from Dranken Vandewoude and drunk at home Black beer lasting tan head .Big espresso coffee and dark chocolate aroma. Good coffee and chocolate flavours a touch of paper on aroma. Full in mouth full on finish. hides abv well. very good

Aus der Flasche (bottled 09.10.2021) im 2022-05 getrunken. Bei dieser Variante des KBS ist der Name im Aroma sofort sehr deutlich. Hier findet sich eine wunderbare Kaffeenote, die durch eine Süße die Bitterkeit der Röstaromen hervoragend balanciert. Ein tolles Stout!
