18/8/2022. Cask at BiraBar, Sofia. Pours very dark mahogany brown with a small frothy beige head. Good looking beer. Aroma is malty, light roasted, caramel, chocolate, whiff of sewer. Medium sweetness and mild bitterness. Very soft body. Promised something it didn’t quite deliver.

Bottle at the flat in Sofia - picked up at 100 Beers. Bit of a gusher. Pours mostly clear brown with a billowing, yellow-tan head. Seems this one may have picked up a bit of an infection, though the beers Ian certainly interesting and not actually that bad. Kind of like an oude bruin now. Has notes of funky brett, tangy berries, old leather, suggestions of dark malts and toffee. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Lightly drying finish, more tart berries, a little earth, burnt toast. Novel.

Sampled at the brewery, pours a nearly opaque dark brown with plenty of creamy, off white head. Nose has toast and roast, a light sour note though, soured coffee, freeze dried berry. Flavor is more straight up, toast, malt, cocoa, some flat cola, a little dried dark cherry. Finishes creamy.

Smell of tar, oak, some hops. Very dark brown colour, massive dark brown head. Aroma of hops, grass, ash, acid. Sour, bitter taste. Reminds more of a sourstout than a porter. Wild carbon, dry palate.
