Bottle at home, cellared this one for more than 1.5 years. Pours jet black with a magnificient beige head. Nose is intense dark chocolate, cocoa powder, light roasted malts and faint esters. Taste is dark chocolate, cocoa powder, roasted malts, estery notes and light dried fruits. Closes with a roasted malty, coffeeish, estery finish, has a nice, medium to full, silky body and soft carbonation. Tasty.

Aroma of malts, dark fruits, raisins, plum, chocolate, molasses. Flavour is very sweet, dark fruits, molasses. Sticky mouthfeel, finishes dry. Love the aroma, but the sweetness is a bit too heavy for my taste.

Pours dark brown with small tan head. Aroma of prunes, dried fruit in general, toasted malt, caramel, chocolate, sweet, molasses, some alcohol. Taste is heavy sweet and moderately bitter. Texture is oily, body full. Finish is long, lingering dried fruit, bittersweet alcohol.

Bottle. Pitch black, smaller beige head, ok lasting. Mild chocolate, slight caramel, some roastiness and some woody presence. Moderate sweetness, chocolate, slight blackcurrant. Medium bitterness. Slightly roasted, some coffee. Medium body, silky with quite some alcohol presence.

Near black beer, off white head. Aroma is fruity, loads of malt, a touch of chocolate. Flavour basically has all the same qualities. A little toastiness. Rich, a little sweet, a bit boozy and very very good.

Roasting and cheese are first seen in this low-potent olfactory. Light chocolate too. Mocha-colored and fairly dense foam is moderately maintained on the black liquid and completely opaque. Taste shows roasting accents with coffee and chocolate. Molasses and fruity accents well present. The roasting notes aren’t very punchy. The body is moderately round and the balance leans a little too much towards the esters at the expense of roasting and its alcohol heat. A little disappointing for this famous brewery. Torréfaction et fromage sont d’abord perçus dans cet olfactif peu puissant. Léger chocolat également. Mousse de couleur moka et assez dense se maintient moyennement sur le liquide noir et totalement opaque. Accents de torréfaction en bouche avec café, chocolat. Mélasse et des accents fruités bien présents. Les notes de torréfaction manquent de punch. Le corps est moyennement rond et l’équilibre penche un peu trop vers les esters au détriment de la torréfaction et de sa chaleur d’alcool. Un peu décevant pour cette brasserie réputée.
