This beer takes you wandering
The soft, creamy feeling in the mouth, coming from the wheat, takes you to the seventh heaven. There, the hoppy aroma whisks you away on a journey along the Mediterranean farmers markets full of apricots and figs, luscious flower fields and an orchard full of ripe oranges.
The gravity coming from the alcohol is minimal, so you can pour it down your heavenly body without the weightless feeling.

On tap at Fuggles Beer Cafe Tunbridge Wells, cloudy gold orange colour lasting white head. Wheat beer esters tangerine and spice aroma. Big spicy fruity citrus Belgian wit bier. OK but a bit too Clive nutmeg spice for me. Bigger isn't always better.

29 April 2018, at Zythos Bierfestival. Deputy Taster: Anke.
A Witbier made without spices, especially the feared (soapy) coriander, so I was curious to try. Clear pale yellow with a small, frothy, white head. Aroma of bitter & grassy hops, citrus, wheat, hay & straw, lemon & apple, white bread, some spices. It tastes light wheaty sour with hints of green apple, and light to medium hoppy bitter, just a tad spicy. Dry, hoppy finish, bit wheaty & bready. Medium body, slick/creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. I expected nothing less from 't Verzet to come up with something new and good. One of the best Witbiers so far.

Hazy blond colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have a real mix of coriander, bitter hop and citrus.

Draft glass @ Billie's beer Kafetaria. Very hazy wheat golden, big creamy white. Nose is thick wheat, plastic, bread plus some plastic fish guts. Odd plastic wheat bread, plastic fish guts, plastic grain. Odd thick plastic wheat. Better than some but too odd for me but alsof not my favorite style.

Keg at the Beer Merchants tap, 12/04/18. Hazed golden orange with a decent off white cap. Nose is fresh citric peel, candied fruits, melon, straw. Taste comprises bubblegum, yeast esters, grains, candied orange peel, light floral wave, light white peppery spice, soft nana bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent flavoursome exponent of the style.

Keg at Beer Merchants. Pours hazy milky gold with a thin white head. Aroma is cloves, bread, spices. Taste is a nice punchy banana and clove hit, plenty of spices and a nice sour finish. Decent

New wheat beer by Verzet, launched during their open doors weekend; 33 cl bottle with crown cap. Thick and very moussy, foamy, regularly shaped, stable, beaten egg-white, ‘papery’ lacing head over a lightly hazy, warm and pure ‘old gold’ coloured beer with very vaguely olive greenish tinge. Aroma of dried orange flesh, dried lemongrass, baked banana, ripe melon, butter, sweet nectar-rich wild flowers, white bread crumbs, flour, dried apple peel, vague soap, lavender, curcuma powder and jute bag hints. Crisp, fruity onset, green banana, apple and starfruit notes, clean and restrained in sweetness with a very soft, dim sourish touch to it; medium carb, soft and very supple, lightly soapy mouthfeel. Pleasantly bread crust-like malt body, a tad ‘powdery’, wheat flour-like, leading to a very floral, delicately aromatic, ‘sunny’ finish adding not only a bouquet of field flowers, but grapefruit and even light orange aromas retronasally. The whole remains soft, light and very elegant, as was the intention. Much more a modern Anglo-Saxon wheat ale than a traditional Belgian witbier or ‘blancheke’ – exactly what I was expecting from this progressive brewery; very well-made technically and nice label too. One of the best Belgian wheat beers I had so far, could easily drink this all day.

19/03/2018 - 33cl bottle from the brewery. First clear golden, than becomes cloudy medium head, sticky foam. Nose is lots of wheat, floral. Taste is wheat, floral, small hint of sweetness, spicy touch, dry bitter ending. Damn this is nice! Very long time ago I drank a nice tempting Witbier like this.
