From can at Noordelijk Kerst- en Winterbierenfestival Hoogeveen 2019. Aorma is chocolate with roasted malt, fairly soft blood orange. Moderate sweet flavour, pretty bitter and roasty. Body is above medium. More chocolate and orange down the road. Pretty nice, I didn't find it that weird actually.

0,33 l can from Wijnalda, Haren. Nearly black in the glass, more than one finger beige head. More choco than coffee on the nose, roasted malt. Taste starts roasted, smooth dark choco, dry, getting some orange in the second row with sweetness. Very low carbonated, mid bitter aftertaste. Nice one.

330ml can. Opaque, dark brown colour with average, frothy, diminishing, minimally lacing, tan head. Rather weak, roasty, chocolately, dark malty, slightly caramel malty and citrusy, fruity aroma, hints of dark chocolate, coffee, some dark caramel, a touch of blood orange, whiffs of liquorice, metallic overtones. Taste is sweet-ish and bitter, tart-ish, chocolately and roasty dark malty, slightly zesty, citrusy fruity, notes of dark chocolate, coffee, blood orange, orange zest, some dark caramel, a minimally metallic touch; lingering, bitter, zesty, bitter roasty and minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Oily to visous texture, creamy, simultaneously minimally repellent, sterile, metallic palate, fine and soft carbonation. Not really harmonious, slightly imbalanced. On the one hand zesty and roasty bitterness are combined, the citrusy fruity flavours are too weak to really interfuse the dark malt partition on the other; with it a slight metallic interference on top - not really convincing.

Can shared by Craftmember, thanks. Pale greyish beige, mousy head on a blackish beer. Aroma of bitter chocolate, coffee, toasted walnuts and indeed blood orange, in a zesty and candied kind of way, on top of the roastedness. Sweet onset, creamy, fig, date, oily with toffeeish malt body soaked in zesty citrus effects, with a roasted bitter coffee finish and quite some warming booze (apparently they actually threw wodka in here). Interesting stout, seemingly with an attempt to make it more refreshing, but as usual with fruit stouts, I have a feeling that the flavours are clashing with each other rather than making each other more attractive. Will re-rate at home, though, as this is from pure memory and I didn't take notes.
